Brookland High School is seeking a motivated and student-centered JROTC Instructor for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about mentoring students, developing leadership skills, and promoting citizenship, responsibility, and teamwork through the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program.

Position Overview

The JROTC Instructor will lead and manage the school’s JROTC program, providing instruction in leadership education, character development, physical fitness, and community service while fostering a positive and structured learning environment for students.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a Retired Commissioned Officer or Retired Noncommissioned Officer (NCO)

• Must be currently serving or have previously served in one of the following:

  • United States Army

  • Army National Guard

  • Army Reserve

  • Active Duty Army

• Eligible for Army JROTC instructor certification requirements

• Ability to work effectively with high school students and staff

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualities

• Passion for mentoring and developing young leaders

• Commitment to student success and character education

• Experience working with youth or in an educational environment

• Ability to coordinate extracurricular activities, competitions, and community events

Responsibilities Include

• Teaching JROTC curriculum aligned with Army standards

• Mentoring and supervising cadets in leadership development activities

• Organizing drills, ceremonies, competitions, and community service projects

• Maintaining program records, inventory, and compliance requirements

• Collaborating with school staff and administration to support student success
